Questa Traditional Scholars Program Application Opening

Fort Wayne, IN, November 30, 2021 – Questa Education Foundation is pleased to announce the Traditional Questa Scholars Program application is available on our website from December 1, 2021 through March 15, 2022. The application is open for traditional students, high school seniors or college freshman, planning on attending college in the fall of 2022.

“Questa is a local nonprofit that makes college possible for over 400 students a year,” said Elizabeth Bushnell, Executive Director of Questa Education Foundation. “Our innovative funding model not only helps students afford college, but also encourages graduates to live and work in Northeast Indiana – building our workforce and our community.”

Through the Traditional Scholars Program, Questa offers low-interest forgivable loans for students pursuing a certificate, associate, or bachelor’s degree from an Indiana college or university.  The program offers a unique way for students to afford college and minimize their debt upon graduation. Questa will forgive 50% of the scholar’s loan balance when the scholar lives and works in Northeast Indiana for five years after graduation. Students who attend and graduate from one of Questa’s regional partner schools will receive an additional 25% forgiveness at graduation.  Questa partners with 12 colleges and universities in the region.

The Traditional Questa Scholars Program allows a student to borrow up to $5,000 per year for a total of $20,000 for a four-year degree.  When scholars meet the qualifying criteria to receive the maximum 75% forgiveness, they only have $5,000 to repay. The forgiveness feature combined with the low, fixed interest rate after graduation makes the program a fantastic financial aid option for students and families.

All students pursuing a variety of majors are encouraged to apply. Specific funding is available for students from Kosciusko County pursuing a healthcare degree, as well as students studying manufacturing-related fields, and female students studying business.

In addition to serving traditional students, Questa also has funding opportunities for juniors and seniors in college as well as adult learners through the Contemporary Scholars Program application, open year-round.
