The Housing Steering Committee was formed by the DeKalb County Economic Development and consists of: Anton King, Mayor Mike Ley, Mayor Todd Fiandt, Mayor Mike Hartman, Brent Shull, Mary Simcox, Councilwoman Amy Demske, Rudi Eidam, Jeremiah Otis, Chris Gaumer, Steve Teders, Tyler Cleverly, Aaron Campbell, Tanya Young, and Pam Howard. The Steering Committee consists of representatives and experts from area economic development and business groups, real estate experts, elected officials, and other community leaders committed to creating accessible housing to all DeKalb County residents.

Down Payment Assistance Program

Now Available in DeKalb County. Hoosier Homes is an Indiana Program that helps low and moderate-income individuals and families buy a home in approved areas of Indiana. Qualified home buyers receive up to 5 percent assistance for down payment an closing costs, plus a loan with competitive interest rate.
