Town of Waterloo
Established in 1856 during the construction of what now is Norfolk Southern Railway Company in Grant & Smithfield townships.
Located directly off I-69 & US-6 with CR 427 going through the town.
Students attend Waterloo Elementary School, DeKalb Middle School, & DeKalb High School.
There is the town manager who helps oversee activities in the town & implement projects including economic development. Meetings for council are scheduled for the second Tuesday of every month at the library, conveniently located next to town hall.
Police & fire departments are located downtown with many volunteer and reserves.
Waterloo owns & operates its municipal sewer & water utilities. NIPSCO is the electric & gas provider.
Francis Thomas Memorial Park with a pavilion, historic train depot, & year-round use large playground area. There also is a bicycle-pedestrian trail, two baseball diamonds, and Waterloo Grant Township library.
