Town of St. Joe
Settled in 1835 by pioneer John Blair. The town really developed during the construction of railroads during the 1870's.
On SR 1 south of Butler, north of Spencerville.
Younger students attend Riverdale Elementary school in the DeKalb County Eastern Community School District. High school students attend Eastside Junior- Senior High School in Butler, Indiana.
The town council president is head of the town council, meetings are the fourth Monday of every month in the newly remodeled town hall.
The DeKalb County Sheriff's Department serves the Town of St. Joe. Spencerville volunteer fire department & Concord township volunteers manage emergencies. EMS services are provided by DeKalb County.
Electric services are provided by the Indiana Michigan Power Company, natural gas provider is NIPSCO. St. Joe-Spencerville Regional sewer district provides sewer treatment.
Branch of Butler Public Library resides in Riverdale Elementary School. There also are five baseball diamonds, three community parks, and an all season scenic river greenway. St. Joe also is the home to the St. Joe Pickle festival annually held August.
In 2010 they completed their Safe Route to School Project.
