Town of Corunna
The Town of Corunna can be located on DeKalb County maps as early as 1858. It was a stop for trains on the New York Central Railroad.
Was not until 1902 that Corunna became a town.
Located along the south side of US 6 & SR 327 runs north-south through town. Norfolk Southern rail run east-west through town.
Elementary students attend Country Meadow Elementary school. Junior & Senior high school students attend DeKalb Middle School & DeKalb High School.
Three member town council help oversee activities, projects, & development. Meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month at town hall.
Corunna is covered by DeKalb County Sheriff Departments. The Fire Department consists of volunteers and is directed by the fire chief.
The new fire station holds the Annual Corunna Fireman's Festival held the last Friday & Saturday in June with a fish fry and all day events. Fundraising fish fry meals are served every other Friday evenings throughout most of the year.
The town operates its own water & sewage services. NIPSCO is the electric service provider for the town.
